Director of Surgical Services – Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC)
Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) is located in Bradford, Pennsylvania and is a part of Upper Allegheny Health System. BRMC is a 110-bed acute care hospital with a 95-bed skilled nursing facility and a home health and hospice agency. We offer patients and their families a full range of diagnostic and medical services, as well as many specialty services. Services and programs include: oncology, cardiology and vascular care, OB/GYN, general surgery, GI, urology, women's health, internal medicine, pediatrics, sleep medicine, psychiatric care, pulmonary medicine, and comprehensive counseling for alcohol and chemical dependency.
The hospital completed a $15 million building project in 2007 which included building a five-story Outpatient Services Center, redesigning and doubling the size of the Emergency Department, and modernizing and upgrading the Surgical Services Department.
The Director of Surgical Services is the nursing leader for the perioperative service area, which includes: same day surgery, the operating rooms, PACU, anesthesia services, the pain management clinic, and the sterile processing department. This position reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.
The ideal candidate will assure optimal quality of surgical and anesthesia outcomes and patient safety. The Director will be expected to work with both hospital staff and medical staff to ensure compliance with evidence-based policies and practices and quality initiatives. A qualified Director will demonstrate the ability to support and further a patient-centered care culture and provide caring and decisive leadership.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required. Operating Room Nurse certification preferred. Experience in staffing and managing surgical and perioperative services. A minimum of five years practicing as a professional in an acute care hospital is required and at least three years must be in a progressively responsible position in healthcare management and leadership.
